Citrix has acquired Unicon to further efforts to enhance support for Hybrid Work
Citrix today have announced the acquisition of Unicon, a trusted Citrix Ready™ partner, to bring even greater value to your hybrid work solutions. This strategic acquisition introduces eLux, a secure endpoint operating system (OS), and Scout, their robust management platform, to streamline IT operations, boost security, and reduce costs in hybrid work environments.
This acquisition complements, and validates, the long evangelised Digital Workspace offering from Com-X to include a secure endpoint OS and securely delivered Apps, Desktops and Data; that we have provided customers in Australia. We are an invested Partner to both Citrix and Igel (a competitor to Unicon) with their maturity and Preventative Security Model approach. We look forward to the opportunity this acquisition means for customers and the opportunity to further expand awareness of the importance of a Secure Endpoint OS.
For Citrix customers this acquisition will bring the following published key benefits if they
- Seamless Hybrid Work Integration: eLux and Scout are designed to work seamlessly with Citrix solutions, including Virtual Apps, DaaS, and the Enterprise Browser, ensuring a secure and smooth experience.
- Simplified IT Operations: With Scout’s centralised management, managing your endpoints—whether on-premises, hybrid, or in the cloud—becomes more efficient.
- Enhanced Security and Cost Savings: eLux and Scout provide scalable, secure solutions that integrate effortlessly into your Citrix ecosystem.
- Future-Ready and Sustainable: Optimise device usage, extend their lifecycle, and prepare your infrastructure for the future with these innovative tools.
Transition and Availability
To support a smooth transition, a dedicated Unicon SKU will be available starting February 2025. This SKU will remain in place until a customer’s next Citrix renewal. Afterward, Unicon solutions will be included in both the Universal Hybrid Multi-Cloud License and Citrix Platform License, ensuring their seamless integration into the Citrix portfolio.
I am looking forward to the Com-X Technical Digital Workspaces team to explore and road test the Unicon offerings and for any customer in ANZ region interested in exploring with the Australian leader in Secure Endpoint OS and Citrix solutions, please don’t hesitate to get in contact where we can assist in maximising the new capabilities for your hybrid work environments and reducing unnecessary costs in endpoint, security agents and more.
